Home | 12th International Symposium
The pharmaceutical industry continues to grow although at a slower pace, despite a global recession. ANDA, NDA and biogenerics are the new watch words and IP, the key success. Growth in technology and intense industry competition has led to Drug delivery systems (DDS) growth, as companies look for opportunities to extend lives of their therapeutic compounds. It is interesting to note that drug delivery market based product growth has outpaced total Pharma growth.
Declining R&D productivity, increasing development costs and generics entry to market of many high volume drugs means that the companies need to focus on constant development and introduction of new products to meet patient needs. Drug resistance, latency of infection, newer infectious diseases and sudden epidemics and increased incidence of cancer and life style diseases have set the pace for accelerated research in drug delivery strategies to come up with newer more effective, practical and cost effective solutions.
This symposium is planned to discuss various aspects of drug delivery including new developments, regulatory issues and business aspects. Quality by design, PAT, pediatric formulation development would also be deliberated. The symposium would provide a platform for interaction between scientists and technologists from industry, universities and institutes, business development personnel and decision makers from industry.
The target participants are scientists and technologists from R&D, QA, QC, executives from production and management, academicians, regulatory authorities and post graduate students working in the area of drug delivery and related aspects.
Poster sessions while showcasing research in various aspects of drug delivery, would provide a platform for interaction between faculty, delegates and students.
SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS
Scientific Session: Faculty would present recent developments in drug delivery systems, highlight materials science and engineering, the cellular and biological response to materials, the response of various formulations to materials, and the translational considerations, with a common focus on the controlled delivery of active agents
Poster Session: Young Scientist will have opportunity to present a concise overview of their research study. The posters will provide a platform for discussion a forum to exchange ideas and ample opportunity for networking.
Technology Showcase: The “Technology Showcase” would highlight recent developments in excipients drug delivery technologies, process and analytical equipments while providing opportunity to companies to showcase their products to professionals specializing in drug delivery, delegates would have benefit of being updated with the state of art information
